Goodbye Democrats Abroad!

Hopefully yesterday was the very last meeting that I participate in with this organization.

For those that know me, it's common knowledge that I did not have such a great time these last two years with regards to Democrats Abroad.

However, I can't help but be grateful for those that, two years ago, took the time to vote me into office.

I wish I could have done more for you.

The people who attended the meeting got a peek into some of the craziness that I have put up with for the past two years.

The ones that showed up to the bar afterwords got more of the details.

I am glad I got to get some of that off my chest at Sugar Bar. I was really happy to see quite a few people show up to have a beer with us.

I also feel pretty bad for those that showed up. Not enough of us made it to the meeting and we needed 25 people to reach a quorum. Sadly, we got up to about 19 people.

I also feel pretty bad for the three brave souls who ran for office.

I wish I could have done more for you too.

As for what's going to happen next with Democrats Abroad Argentina, I don't have a clue. Yanqui Mike has promised to look into the matter and let us all know.

Meanwhile, I am going to take some distance for a while and try to reflect on my DAA experience.

I feel the same in some part, Frank. But you will have my entire description of what I feel about DA after January 31.

Thanks for your service. I couldn't handle it anymore after the last election.

Frank, I sincerely thank you, Marta and Mike. Had not being for you three guys there wouldn't have been any representation of the Democratic Party in Argentina for the last 2 years.
I'll miss seen you 3 guys working together as the good team you are.
If you need me to volunteer again for any other cause you'd be involved with, just say the word.
All my love,
Alicia

I'm sorry to say that I don't know you personally. What I can say is that Yanqui Mike's representation of DA-Argentina has earned your organization the respect of many leaders in Democrats Abroad. And I know that, to remain steadfast through everything, he must have had dependable local support.

This is also to say that DA-Argentina has many proud companions, country-level organizations which work hard, outside the aristocracy of the organization.

I shudder to guess at how many great people have been driven away recently. All the best to you, and I hope our paths cross someday.

Thanks for the kind words For quite a spell it felt lonely, but one of the positives of all this was reaching out and being contacted by others in different countries. It did truly help to know that we were not alone.

Sadly, all my efforts at actually trying to do something for the American citizens were thwarted.
